‘Convergence’ - Our Sacred Space's 3rd Anniversary inaugurated

Hyderabad: Convergence, Our Sacred Space's Third Anniversary was inaugurated at 10:30am, on October 31st by Sri Jayesh Ranjan, IT Secretary, Government of Telangana. Mr. Ranjan said “I am pleasantly surprised by the variety and range of programs put forward. I appreciate the nature friendly architecture of the space. It has an inviting and warm atmosphere. Local artists and weavers are very 
much needed for the wellbeing of society. I appreciate Our Sacred Space's role in supporting traditional 
arts, artists and artisans. There is need for many more such spaces in the twin cities”.

Convergence is a series of workshops and performances held by Our Sacred Space. It presents the works 
of artists from Telangana, Odisha, and Bengal. This art and handloom exhibition will be held on 1st November too. The organization has commenced ‘Odisha Modern Art Gallery’, which displays selected contemporary works of art. Its main objective is to promote Odisha contemporary art, artists and artisans. The Odisha Modern Art Gallery, a non-profit organization, actively supports artists in marketing and promoting paintings and art forms by holding different exhibitions and workshops. Modern Art Gallery provides permanent exhibition for more than 200 local artists. Some of the artists are former students of prestigious schools such as J.J. School of Art, Mumbai and Shanti Niketan, Calcutta and Hyderabad Central University. 

Handloom exhibition has a wide variety of collections from Malkha, Pochampally, Maheshwari, Kota, Kalamkari, Uppada pattu sarees, Bandhani work, Chikan embroidery, Block printed sarees, Dhaka designer, Kanjeevaram sarees and more. Convergence includes photography exhibition which will continue till 8th November, except 2nd November. The photography exhibition displays the works of Saurabh Chatterjee.
